Just looking into the proper/easiest way to backup Exchange 2013 DAG (2 member servers, one local and one in a co-location.)
I've read through some articles and posts, but most of them seem older and nothing I have seen references veeam version 11 specifically.
Could you maybe point me in the right direction on this? I can give more details as needed.
Cheers,
Max

Re: Exchange 2013 - DAG - 2 Member Servers - Virtualized on vmware - Backup
Hi Marc,
You may find some general recommendations and tips for baking up DAG in this article, I believe it's still valid. Another useful article can be found in the best practices guide. Basically, it would be enough to process just a passive node as this method as well allows you to get all recovery options.
Thanks!

Andreas' blog post is probably the best and most detailed resource on Exchange DAG backup you can find
In general (or from my point of view) it depends much on your hardware and the load of your Exchange servers. If both aren't a problem you could be able to backup a DAG member with default settings. Just make sure that you backup only one member at a time.

Yikes, that was a long read. Lot's of info though. DO wish it was all a little more out of the box easy. lol. I don't remember our previous backup solution being this involved for Exchange, but maybe I just don't remember the initial setup as much.
