Exchange 2013 IP Less DAG (CAAP) Backup
Hi,
We are looking at migrating to Exchange 2013 and want to know if Veeam Backup & Replication is capable of performing IP Less DAG backups.
I believe that this feature is related to Cluster Administrative Access Point (CAAP).
Is this something Veeam Supports?
Kind regards
Josh

Hi Josh, yes, IP less DAGs are fully supported. Here's the detailed blog post from one of our solution architects about that.

Re: Exchange 2013 IP Less DAG (CAAP) Backup
Thank you for your reply Foggy.
I don't see any reference to the CAAP I am looking for. Apparently, this will automatically detect which server is the passive member and use that for backups.
The blog and other material mentions that it is recommended to backup the passive copy, but implies that this is not automatically selected.
Thank you
Josh

You will still add the node to the job explicitly, using its IP address, so CAAP doesn't seem to change anything.

Does this means that the email backup can also be restored at the item level still ?

Yes, do not see why it couldn't.
