Exchange backup hangs when application processing enabled.
We have been experiencing this issue since September. When enable application-aware image processing is enabled, the backup jobs hangs on the message "Waiting for backup infrastructure resources availability".
If we disable this, the job completes fine.
Exchange 2010 Version 14.2 (Build 247.5)
Latest version of Veeam.

Actually I'm quite confused. Application-aware image processing does not affect selection of resources involved in VM processing in any way, while the message you're seeing is typical to proxy server/backup repository availability issues (e.g. no proxy servers available for processing). Do you have available proxy slots at the time when the job runs with AAIP is enabled? Have you contacted support with this?

The job runs fine without aap enabled. This has been tried with two different proxy servers. The strange thing is this also happens to our second Exchange server located at our DR site (I have tried two different proxies with this server also).

Providing the issue is reproducible, you'd better contact support team with it, as it's hard to speculate regarding the potential causes without seeing logs and actual infrastructure. Anyway, the whole behavior is strange, indeed, since the shouldn't be any correlation between AAIP option and resource availability.
