Exclude folder from VM job

Post by xmzmc »

Hi,

I have a question about a specific Veeam B&R job that backup's a couple of Windows VM's. I want to exclude a specific folder from a specific VM. I think I know how to do this and I already have configured everything through the application-aware processing option. I used this documentation to exclude the specific folder: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/archive/ba ... clude.html and I want to double check the specific folder isn't included in the backup tonight because it's a temp folder and way too big to be included.

I have clicked Applications > Edit for the specific VM I want to exclude a folder on. After that, in the Exclusions tab > exclude section i have clicked add and added this folder: D:\DATA
This folder (DATA on drive D:\) is the folder on that VM that needs to be excluded. My question: is the syntax correct and will it be excluded from the backup if all other requirements are met (like for example AAP being enabled)?

Thanks in advance

Hi xmzmc,

Yep, looks correct. You have the right section and location, should work as expected. This page has a deeper explanation as well as examples of inclusion/exclusion as well as the outcomes.
