I created a VM at my remote site to act as a proxy (appliance mode) and a gateway to my local StoreOnce. The goal is to have the gateway do the chunking/hashing/compressing part of the inline dedupe process thus sending only unique, compressed data across the WAN to my local Catalyst store.
When I configure the backup for my remote site, would it be wise to exclude the proxy/gateway VM? I'm guessing yes, but I'd like other opinions. Thank you.

Re: Exclude proxy/gateway VM?
Hi Jim, yes, you'd better exclude this VM from the job, since it will not be able to hotadd itself and use CBT.
