"exclude swap file blocks from processing"

Post by MAA »

Hello,

I have B&R8 and "Exclude swap file blocks from processing" option set in backup job,
but, i see fullsize pagefile.sys in Backup Browser.
This is normal?

Yes, this is normal. First of all, only those blocks that contain exclusively swap file data are skipped (zeroed). Blocks that also contain data related to other files are not touched.

The file you see in FLR Backup Browser has its size taken from MFT of the backed up system, however, most of its content is actually zeroed out and does not take any space in the backup file.
