Exclude VM indexing for example

Post by zdemi »

Hello everyone, I'd like to talk to you all about the new functionality of Veeam backup. During backups, I've encountered several times that I need to exclude some virtual machines, for example when indexing a host. The program could be supplemented with regular expressions that specify the backup job. What do you think about it ??

Hello and welcome to the community zdemi.

You want to automatically exclude virtual machine from processing based on its index, is that right? Can you please clarify your use case? Thank you.

Yes it's right. For example, you can have indexed and non-indexed servers in one backup job (if you can not get to admin share server) and do not have to create an extra backup job. Backup job does not report errors. And you immediately know that you have all the backup jobs OK. Basically, it's a fine-tuning backup job.

Why don't you just disable indexing for those particluar VMs in the job?

Thanks
