Explorer for DA / Can't restore a computer

hello,
today, trying to restore an object from active directory, I received a message issue:
"The specified database cannot be opened on this OS version"
Backup server is a 2008 R2 server.
DC server is a 2012 R2 server.
They must be same OS to restore correctly with Active Directory Explorer?

Correct, Veeam Explorer for Active Directory should be installed on a machine with the same or newer OS version than the version of the domain controller's OS.
