Feature Request: backup job based on vm atributes
Hi,
I'm thinking about new feature. I have folder (in vsphere) where are placed windows and linux machines.
Now, when I create backup job to backup this folder (or resource pool), it is dynamic - when new vm is created in this folder, it is automatically backuped (this is great).
I would like to create two backup jobs. Backup job will have option to select vm atributes (eg. os type). Then I can have one backup for windows vms and other job for linux vm, both backuping same folder. And this jobs can have different settings (eg. linux using vmware tools quiesce)
I know in this example it can be handled now by moving to subfolders and creating two backup jobs, but It can be useful to be able backup vms based on some (dynamic?) tags.

Why not to use vSphere TAGs for achieving that goal?

... and you can use Veeam ONE to automate this process by writing tags to VMs configs via categorization rules.

Yes, you can. Backup job settings -> Virtual Machines -> Add Objects -> Tags view (top right). Thanks.
