Hey,
I was wondering if there's any value in backing up linked clone vms - like the linked clones from Citrix base images. Obviously, we backup the base images themselves but the clones made by citrix don't really hold any value. Maybe we could put a check to see if the vm is a linked clone?
Thanks
Ryan

Re: Feature Request: Check if vms are linked clones?
Hi Ryan,
Thanks for FR, noted.
You can solve this today by deploying linked clones in a separate Resource Pool, or have those machines tagged with vSphere Tag - in both cases you can use job's Exclude functionality to completely ignore those machines.
/Cheers!

If this is not something you can do by the available tools, you can use Veeam ONE Business view and create there a rule that creates VMware tags for those VMs.
Not that simple if you never worked with Business View but Veeam ONE is really powerful tool.
