Feature Request: Mark VMs in Backup-Jobs

Post by SonicSales »

Hi,
we are using B&R 9.5 Enterprise with vSphere 6.5.

Today we stumbled upon an issue, that several VMs have not been backuped since creation.
Is there any option to see if a machine is included in at least one backup job?

It would be nice to have a little check marker or something, when you add a machine to a job and you get the VM list from vSphere.
You could also not include or at least hide those machines, that are included in the job that is currently edited.

We would really like to see this in the next version.

Best Regards,
Jörg

PS: I got a workaround by exporting a csv of all VMs from vCenter.
There are comments from veeam in the machine details. That did help for now...
but it's time consuming and an additional step...

Hello,

This Veeam ONE report should perfectly cover your use-case.

Thanks

Hi wishr,
yes, this would speed up my workaround.
But having this at hand every time I edit a job, this would make it much more obvious.
And shortening the VM-List by VMs already in the currently edited job would make selecting the machines in need much easier...
Thanks!

I think this old workaround (workaround#1) might do the trick for you. Thanks!

You can use powershell scripting to give a report on this weekly as well. We are using Shawn Masterson script "My Veeam Report". It has a lot of options. Sky is really the limit on what he has set you can pull and report on.

This also will give you duplicated VMs if you have them in two jobs. You will just need to play with it to pull what you want.
