Hi,
I can't seem to find a Yes/No answer on various other threads, so I thought I'd ask...
I am backing up Windows servers with Veeam. I need to be able to do guest file restores, which I do by browsing to the file/folder in the file explorer from the veeam server (note not using enterprise manager or whatever it's called).
Can I still do this without creating a catalog? Because the disk space overhead is significant, and I'm not searching across backups - you can't do this anyway with my version of Veeam?
Thanks, Alan

Re: file restore (win) - Guest File System Indexing?
Alan, you can disable guest OS files system indexing, it is required if you need to search for guest OS files in the backup using Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager (1-click FLR functionality) and does not affect your ability to restore files via Veeam B&R management server.
Btw, here's and existing thread on how to clean up this folder, probably could help.
