Servus Community,
some time ago we had the issue of deleting old, supposedly no longer needed replicas in the Veeam console, which then accidentally resulted in the productive servers being completely removed from the host. The mistake was that we started a replica without finalizing the steps to permanently failover. From Veeam's perspective, the server that was productive for us was still a replica.
We are currently planning to upgrade from version 9.5 to the current version 11 and are currently getting an overview of the replication structure. The question that now comes up again is how we can actually determine whether we still have a replica in productive use that has not yet been completed with a permanent failover. Is there any indication for this at any point?
Thx & Bye Tom

Re: Find out if failover replication is complete
The replica in failover state is shown under "Replicas" - "Active" node with "Failover" status. Once you perform permanent replica VM will be removed from "Replicas". Or you are looking for a different indicator? Thanks!

Re: Find out if failover replication is complete
Servus Veremin,
the attached screenshot shows the current output in the console. All have the status "Ready" but if you look closely two machines are listed twice (VM-REGULA-1 and VM-NET-SRV-2) and as far as I can remember these duplicates were the trigger for the cleaning action at that time. Which of the duplicates we than had deleted, I can't tell you anymore, but they were definitely the wrong ones each time, because we very successfully deleted three quarters of our virtual infrastructure in a very short time...
But none of the virtual machines are removed from the Replicas section, this looks like a complete list of our virtual infrastructure.
Thanks for your attention & Bye Tom

Re: Find out if failover replication is complete
The only thing that the screenshot reliably suggests is that there are no replicas in Failover state, I cannot tell anything besides that by looking at it.
Generally, failed over replicas should be put into subnode "Replicas -> Active (N)" - with number of active replicas in brackets. Once you finalize failover, they are removed from the root node and its subnodes completely. This is the indicator that you should rely on.
If this does not happen, then the case should be discussed with the support team.
Thanks!
