FLR Root Login

Post by davegold »

Hi,

I was working on a restore issue (filename ?.html) with a customer, and tried to login to the Veeam 6.1 FLR using root and the Veeam Backup servername_r, and wasn't a able to get in. Does anyone know if the root password for the FLR with 6.1 is different than noted in http://www.veeam.com/kb_articles.html/kb1447 ?

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave, there were no changes to anything around Linux FLR in 6.1, so it should be the same.

I figured it out, the article is wrong about which hostname to use (FLR hostname, not Veeam server hostname). At least with Veeam Backup 5. I'll check on a 6 install when I have a chance.

Thanks much for the reply.

No idea what that password would be.
The appliance is: VeeamFLR_WA-Linux_00aa5360-1587-4abf-9c76-0eafcdb70f49 but that does not work

In fact it is still <Veeam_server_hostname>_r for FLR appliance, but try to type the Veeam server name in uppercase (worked for me).

P.S. Will ask support to update the KB.

Root password for LinuxFLR should be as following:

<Hostname of server on which vPowerNFS is running>_r
*Try to type hostname in the uppercases.

In case of default repository, it would be a hostname of your VB&R server. Otherwise, it would be a hostname of repository where backup files from which you’re trying to restore are stored.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Hello
I have the same issue : the FLR root lofin failes.

My VM is named : VeeamFLR_tasks_a580b223-bfce-475e-99a2-6b851975a9db

I have tried all this password :
without changing : VeeamFLR_tasks_a580b223-bfce-475e-99a2-6b851975a9db_r
brief : VeeamFLR-tasks_r
setting with "-" : VeeamFLR-tasks-a580b223-bfce-475e-99a2-6b851975a9db_r
setting upper cases : VEEAMFLR-TASKS-A580B223-BFCE-475E-99A2-6B851975A9DB_r

nothing runs

Have you got an idea ?
Regards
Yves

Hi Yves, is it the name of your repository server?

Hi. That's expected if you're using version 9.5: NOTE: Starting from Veeam 9.5, a default password is not used for all appliances but Cloud Connect NEA.

You need to specify a password for a helper appliance in the credential manager.
