forever inc

Post by tvm » Jul 15, 2019 9:48 pm

what's the best way to ensure all my backups are "forever" incremental?
i see in the manual that there is also a "forward" incremental available and i'd like to avoid it
there doesn't appear to be a one single backup type selector in the UI
what's the magical combination of settings?

thanks!

Backup Job -> Edit -> Storage -> Advanced:

- Enable Incremental (Recommended)
- Disable create synthetic full backups periodically
- Disable Create active full backups periodically

Thanks!

is backup maintenance (defrag and compact) a must in that case, if i want to keep the size of the full backup in check?

thank you!

Not must, but definitely recommended. Thanks!
