Full Backups date is changing

Post by claudiofolu »

Hello
I see a couple posts before, with this same issue.
We are on v10, Incremental backup job without active or synthetic fulls..and we notice that the vbk date is changing with every incremental...why is that?

The oldest incremental will be merged together with the full file every day. Otherwise your chain would grow forever and backup files could not be deleted as they all depend on each other.

Hi @claudiofolu,

just in case - we have this animated kb showing you how synthetic full works.
This might give you more details on the whole process.

Thanks!
