Future Indexing improvements?

Are there any plans to ditch the indexing process used for Enterprise Manager, and somehow allow EM to use the native Veeam file indexex?

I would very much like to have our front-end support folks use the Enterprise Manager web console to perform routine file restores, but since a few critical file-share servers cannot be indexed (takes 8+ hours just to run the index), this isn't useful.
