get retention date and time of a restore point

Post by psbackup »

Hi all,
Is there a way to get the information when a restore point will be delete from repository for control issues?
Can this date be changed?
Use case:
The original vm has been deleted intentinal.
Normal (maximal) retention for all backups is one year using gfs-policy
Now the admin wants the latest backup to be kept for two years.

Of course restore of vm and backup again with another policy is possible but not smooth. 8)

Best regards
Peter

All backups depend on the actual settings from the job. So when you want to increase from one to two years at GFS, you need to increase the GFS rule to two years.

For primary (daily) chain, there is this setting: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... tml?ver=95

On a side note, if you want to increase the retention policy just for a couple of VMs, I would recommend to use backup copy job to offload these VMs to another storage with the required retention (updated) policy.
