Hi, we are looking at using Veeam for our DR solution, we have hit a road block early on and I was wondering if any body out there has a fix for us.
We are trying to backup vm's in a clustered environment with shared storage via the management server. Problem being is that when a vm resides on shared storage, vmware kindly puts the respective files in a 'lock' mode whilst it is powered on. Veeam backup fails because of this.
I can successfully backup when we backup direct to a single host.
How are other customers setting their environments up to overcome this? Are LUNs only presented to a single host?
Any pointers would be appreciated!
Brendan

Re: Getting Started - Shared Storage
Hello Brendan,
Thank you!
Most Veeam customers are backing up VMs that reside on a storage shared between multiple hosts and I haven't seen any issues like you describe. There must be something else that prevents you from having successful backup job. Please contact our support team and provide all log files for further investigation.bmarmont wrote:vmware kindly puts the respective files in a 'lock' mode whilst it is powered on. Thank you!
