Hello,
we have a server on whose hard disk the backup replicas are stored. Recently the message "Replica location is getting low on disk space"appears. Because of this we would like to replace the hard disk on this server with a bigger one.
What is the best way to do this?
I have read the KB article 1729, but for that both hard disks have to be installed in parallel. I would use a large external USB hard drive for the exchange.
Does that make sense?
Thanks and regards

Re: Hard disk replacement
If you're talking about migrating backup repository to a larger disk, then yes, you can use external drive as a temporary location while following the KB's instructions. I'm a bit confused though as the message you mention talks about replication, not backup.

Re: Hard disk replacement
I'm backing up all virtual machines to a local backup disk.
This backup is replicated to a smaller disk on an similar second server. Now I have to replace that smaller disk to a bigger one.

Ok, solution described in the KB should work for you.
