Hi,
We have a NAS and gateway server connected on a remote location in a specific network segment. Some users are also connected in this network segment and experience degraded network performance during the Veeam healthcheck.
gateway server is connected to the NAS based on 1 Gbps.
- Is it possible to dual home the gateway server with an addition 10 Gbps network interface, to connect directly to the NAS ?
- Will the connection over 10 Gbps reduce the healthcheck window ( regarding procesing time ) ?
thanks !

Re: Healthcheck performance NAS / Gateway server
Yes, this is possible if you add the NAS connection (directly) on another IP subnetz.
Healthcheck should be accelerated of cause and not affect the other network if configured correctly.

Re: Healthcheck performance NAS / Gateway server
Hi Andreas,
Regarding to directly connecting the NAS to the gateway server. Am I correct that there is no need for the Veeam server ( Backup & Replication Console ) to have access to the share ?
As an example :
- VBR server is in 172.16.10.X network ( single homed );
- Gateway server is in 172.16.10.X network ( dual homed );
- Second network on the gateway server is 10.10.10.151 network ( dual homed );
- CIFS share is on 10.10.10.101 network on a NAS device;
During repository configuration on the Backup & Replication we configure:
- Shared folder \\10.10.10.151\Backup
- Gateway server : use the following server 10.10.10.101

Re: Healthcheck performance NAS / Gateway server
Correct, backup server itself doesn't need access to the share.
