how can remove hotadd disks after backup finished

Post by george.jame »

I am using Lan free for get backup in the first days i did not have any problem and all excellent
also i have selected automatic selection for transport mode and also select failover to network mode
as you can see in follow pic more than 30 vdisk has been attached to veeam due backup process in the first days but today when i ran backup it cannot hotadd any disk to veeam on the other hand it did not release previous disks and as attached disks are more than 30 disks it cannot attach new disks and do backup via LAN free and all of backups will be do via network now my main question is :
how can release previous vdisks from veeam machine ? my veeam is a virtual machine

Hi George,
It looks strange and requires a check, as Veeam should automatically remove said disks after backup completion.
Anyhow, you can manually remove those disks from Veeam machine configuration(hit X by disk name tab, than Ok). Make sure no backups are running at this time.
/Thanks!

Yes, you can. Just remove them from your backup proxy VM, but don‘t delete them from disk, of course.
You might also consider giving your proxy VM an additional SCSI controller to use for adding new disks.

Exactly, just remove them from the virtual machine that is your Veeam server.

No!
You want to just disconnect it from your proxy, not to delete it even for the VM it originally belongs to!
