I have read through many posts in different forums that say backing up sql cluster using physical or virtual RDM is not going to work because the snapshot will fail.
Is it possible to still snapshot the VM with system disks only, exclude the RAW mappings and then maybe a file copy of the SQL backup files to another VM server and snap that server.
Has anyone found a best method for doing this, I could test out some methods but we haven't got the sql cluster built yet.
We are on Veeam v7, vsphere 5.5

Re: How to Backup SQL Cluster
VB&R should work flawlessly with vRDMs, as such disks support snapshots. Also, are there any reasons for using pRDM, instead of vRDM/vmdk? Thanks.I have read through many posts in different forums that say backing up sql cluster using physical or virtual RDM is not going to work because the snapshot will fail.
