How to migrate Veeam 5.0.2 database to Veeam 6.5

Hi,

current we are using Veeam 5.0.2 with SQL express 32-bit.
we are planning install Veeam 6.5 on new server, how do i transfer all my back up jobs and database to new server with Veeam 6.5?

Hi, a possible way could be to first upgrade the actual Veeam installation to 6.5, so you can use the configuration backup to export configuration and than import it in the new 6.5 server.

Probably, the idea mentioned by Luca would be the best one, since quite a lot of changes have been made to VB&R architecture, thus, just copying an existing data-base wouldn’t be enough in your case.

Detailed description of the upgrading process (5.0.2 -> 6.5.) can be found in the corresponding Release Notes (p.13).

Additionally, for more information about configuration backup it might be worth checking User Guide (p.297) or this existing topic.
