how to Upgrade B&R 6.0.0.153 to 8

Hello,

I have a Veeam B&R 6.0.0.153 that I need to upgrade to 8.0.

I have tried to search the KB and forum for upgrade guides, but the closest I have found is from 6.5 to 8.

Also the release notes for 8.0 only talks about >=6.5 upgrade.

What is the best upgrade path from 6.0 ?

The setup is as follows:
1 full install of Veeam with vmware datastores as repositories.
1 Veeam repository server on another datacenter, also with vmware datastores as repositories.

Veeam Backup & Replication 8.0 supports automated in-place upgrade from version 7.0 and 6.5 (any patch level) that preserves all products settings and configuration.
To upgrade from VBR 6.0, contact Veeam Technical Support.

I believe you can upgrade from 6 to 6.5 for free, once you are on 6.5 perform the in place upgrade from 6.5 to 8, I have done it several times, works like a charm and everything is preserved.

To recap:

I have downloaded 6.5, 6,5 patch3, 8,0 and 8,0update2.

The upgrading will be done as follows:
1. Update to 6.5
2. Update to patch 3
3. Upgrade to 8.0
4. Update to 8.0update2

One more thing... Where in 6.0 can I make a configuration backup ?

You don`t really need to update VBR 6.5 to patch 3.

It should be in the Menu > Conf. bacakup

There is no option called "Configuration backup" or anything similar in the menu bar.

Double-checked older versions, the configuration backup was added after version 6x, so no configuration backup in 6.0 at all.
