How to verify 9.5.4.2866 Update 4b kb3039 is installed
I've installed the patch veeam_backup_9.5.4.2866.update4b_kb3039.exe but I'm not sure how to determine its actually installed. When I go to the about screen it still shows Veeam Backup and Replication 9.5 Update 4 Version 9.5.4.2866. I was expecting the last 4 digits of the build to increment. How can I be sure the patch is applied?

Re: How to verify 9.5.4.2866 Update 4b kb3039 is installed
Hello Keith,
Version 9.5.4.2866 is Veeam Backup and Replication 9.5 Update 4b
Update 4a has a build number 9.5.4.2753 and Update 4 is 9.5.4.2615
So it looks like the latest version is installed successfully.
Thanks!

Just found out that KB3039 is a hotfix, not 4b update.
Hotfixes don't increment build numbers.

@Shestakov,
Isn't there something the logs we could grep really quick to indicate it? I know in the past after clients installed hot fixes we saw something like [Private Fix] in some of the logs show up.

You can find hotfix numbers in installed DLLs, but I believe there is no single place to see all installed hotfixes.
Could you elaborate on the use case, what can the hotfix number tell you?
Thanks!

I think the idea is simple; just to make sure the fix actually got applied. At least in my shop, we have a bunch of remote sites and the administrators of these sites can be...well...let's just say I didn't hire them.
For me it's just nice to verify that a patch I told someone to install actually got installed.

This is a perfect use case for Veeam ONE then. It will issue a Veeam Intelligent Diagnostic alert for any critical patches not installed on monitored backup server (but only if the particular environment needs it).

Harvey, thanks for the explanation.
Currently it's hard to say definitely as some fixes are cumulative.
But as Anton said, we have such a feature in Veeam ONE.
