Immutable storage repo for copy jobs.
We recently setup a 600tb Linux repo for immutable copy jobs setup with XFS. The original source content is coming from a Dell/EMC data domain. We noticed that this new repo did not have the per machine backup file selected. Is this worth turning on? We have been copying for a week now and we weren’t sure what would happen turning it on now.

Re: Immutable storage repo for copy jobs.
Hi Ryan
If you turn it on, a new active full will be required for all machines.
The Problem is, read performance from dedup appliances are not that good. They are not recommended as a primary backup target.
I assume, that‘s the reason why it‘s taking so long to read all blocks. Per machine chain will not that much faster. Our support could confirm that from the logs if you open a case.
It would be better, if your xfs storage is the primary storage and the data domain is the backup copy target.
Thanks
Fabian
