Instant Disk Recovery with multiple vmdks

Post by dimaslan »

Hello all,

I am trying to do an instant disk recovery from a backup copy job of one server and want to attach the disks from it to another server to copy files over.
I have done Instant Disk Recovery in the past but here I was getting an error: "one or more errors occurred".
I will open a case for this, however I realized just today that the 7.7 TB drive of the source VM is actually 3 variable size vmdks on the datastore.
Of course I am making sure the scsi numbers are not coinciding with the existing disks, however could it be the issue that the source VM disk is actually comprised of 3 different vmdks?

Thank you.

Hi Dimitris,

At first sight, I'd say that there is no correlation between the number of disks and the error retrieved. On the other hand, it's better to examine the use case in details and to look for some hints in debug logs before making any conclusion. Please open a support case and share a support case ID with us.

Thanks!
