Instant VM Recovery
I've referred to this post but, I don't seem to have an "Instant Recovery node" in home. The vm is up and working but, the disk is not on the ESXi host machine. It's running off the NFS share or something. The recovery process says "waiting or user migration" but I don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing. Can I get any help on this? I'm new to using the software and want to make sure we can do a recovery correctly when the time comes.

Re: Instant VM Recovery
Hi Arthur, if you've just performed Instant Recovery, there should be a corresponding tab in the inventory pane and the corresponding node in the left pane in the Home view. Make sure you're not confusing the Home view with the Home tab.

Re: Instant VM Recovery
You now need to finalize the process by using Storage vMotion or Quick Migration. See this page under the heading "Finalizing the Process" - https://bp.veeam.com/vbr/VBP/Support/S_ ... %20More%20

Re: Instant VM Recovery
Is that not something that happens automatically? Is there any situation where you wouldn't want to do that?

Re: Instant VM Recovery
It is not automatic when you use Instant VM Recovery as you need to take action because of the steps to finalize is aborting the restore as noted in that link. Not wanting to do it would depend on your situation but there could be cases where you are just doing Instant VM Recovery to validate something in a VM but not putting it back to production.

Re: Instant VM Recovery
You can use Instant Recovery in many scenarios, including the ones where final migration to production is not required (e.g. testing restores, restoring just some data from the VM, or you can even decide to go with another restore point, etc.).

Re: Instant VM Recovery
Looks like the Quick Migration was the missing step. Thanks so much!
