Hello
I tried to use the direct SAN mode, with the Ver 6 trial, veeam is running on a vm with Win7x64, with 3 nics (nic1 is standard, nic2=iscsi ) MS iscsi initiator is configured and all 4 LUNs are visible.
in diskpart I see automount is disabled, but If I have a look to the disks MS wants to init it or write a signature, so I stopped this. Not nice. Is there I way to prevent MS from this, its risky ?
The LUN are mounted RW, because its not paussible to mount it only R

Re: iscsi init /signature problem in Backup VM
Hi, what do you mean? Microsoft cannot init or write a signature to any volume that is not mounted...

Re: iscsi init /signature problem in Backup VM
good morning
I have seen this pop windows from MS if I go to the diskmanagment console, that there are new disk and they should be inited.
So I stopped it and closed this console.
Its the same message like you got if you add a new phys disk to the system. I did a small test with this vm, installed a new
virt hdd and booted up, then I got also this message. under diskpart I see, automount is disabled.

Looks like you're not the only one who spotted this:

Btw, do you have a SAN POLICY set to "OfflineAll"?

SAN POLICY was online, i did not know this feature before, but in your link you can see that this will not fix the problem,
but I changed it to offline.
Maybe someone knows a tweak.
Not nice from MS
