I need to restore one single folder from a backup. I'm using Veeam BUR 9.5 for vSphere and it looks like all I can do is restore the vmdk to an alternate location, mount it, browse it and pull out the folder I need.
Is that right?
When I read the manuals for Hyper-V, it looks like I can do a file\folder level restore in a much easier fashion, but the vSphere documentation just talks about restoring the entire vmdk and mounting it and browsing it.
I need some clarity there please.
Thanks
Cliff

Re: Just making sure my understanding is correct
Hi Cliff.
The process of Guest Files Recovery is pretty much identical between platforms - right click your backup and select Guest Files or use global Restore wizard from the ribbon on top. You do not need to restore virtual disk or mount it manually for that reason.
Guest Files restore wizard is fully automated and will perform all needed mounting operations in the background, no matter of platform chosen - virtual, physical, cloud - it will follow the same process.
/Cheers!

Well I guess I'm missing something. I'll go back and take a look. Thanks for setting me straight.
