Manage Credentials in VBR is somehow not sorted ...

Post by Didi7 »

Hi Veeam guys,

I have a Feature Request, as this is annoying, when you have several credentials created!

The 'Manage Credentials' window in VBR is somehow not sorted correctly. There is some sort of order regarding the 'Account' name but not for 'Description'. See here ...

Could you please correct this behavior?

Thanks

If I remember right, then the sorting is by username and then by creation date, where the newer creation date is on top. This allows you to select the correct one if you have created the same account twice with newer passwords. I think when you click on the Description, you likely can sort it by this?

Hello Andreas,

yes, it's sorted, when you click on Description. If you have more then just ESXi-systems, but also vCenter and Nutanix Cluster objects and/or Nutanix AHV Proxy Appliances and if you use the Description entry to identify what credentials is for what system or hypervisor, it is getting a total mess.

Yes it's sorted by creation date and I understand the background, but personally I don't like it sorted this way due to the mess you have, as mentioned above (specifically when you use the same Account name).

Any other opinions?

P.S.: By the way, I mistakenly put the thread under vSphere, maybe someone can move it upwards, as it's related to VBR in general. Thanks

When you sort it by description and then by username, it should keep the previous sorting and you have the result that you need?

Hello Andreas,

the specific system has been decommissioned. I need to check this, when the new upcoming central VBR backup system will be in place.

As soon as this is done, I might post a result here.

Thanks
