Is the original file level metadata retained, so that it is recoverable after a restore?

Hi,

Veeam Backup and Replication operates at a virtual disk level, so whatever is on the disk when a backup job starts - it will be saved into a backup file and can be recovered later. The only exception from this rile applies to deleted files' blocks, please check this article for more details.

Thanks
