Modern Best Practices with vSphere?

Is there a Modern Best Practices guide for use with vSphere? I found a few forum threads, like this, but all the ones I found are old, disjointed, or both. Is there a definitive guide that I simply cannot find? Thanks!

Our solutions architects have written a best practices book for v8. While it's in the process of being upgraded to v9, most of the ideas in it are valuable regardless the version. Find it here :

I went and wrote my own article on Tag-based Veeam Backups. I wouldn't call it a best practice guide, but my interpretation of the BP guides I listed above, in particular Luca's VMworld session and @k00laidIT's links and some discussion with him.
