'Mounting restore point' takes long
Hello,
we are currently backing up our vSphere cluster with 30 VMs with veeam to EMC Datadomain (ddboost enabled).
The Datadomain is connected via 1 Gbit.
The backup runs pretty smooth, its finished after 1 hour.
But if i want to restore application items such as Active Directory or Exchange the operation "Mounting restore points" is in progress for hours ..
I dont know if it eventually finishes so i can browse the items i want to restore, because we installed veeam 3 days ago and its the first restore today.
Live status output of our datadomain:
10/22 10:53:47
Restore Network
KB/s Out KB/s
--------------- ---------------
29,107 29,107
19,121 19,121
21,557 21,557
14,005 14,005
11,204 11,204
29,839 29,839
Any ideas why it takes so long ?
Thanks
Fabian

The B&R console is installed on a HP DL380 G7 and connected via 2Gbit team over cisco 2960 switches to the datadomain.
It takes about 1 Hour to load a backup in exchange veeam explorer.

Re: 'Mounting restore point' takes long
We have a DD2500 and mounting something from it also takes some time.
Is juist because de DD needs te rehydrate the data.
When we mount from a regular NAS device mounting is fast

Actually that is among the reasons why we do not recommend using any deduplicating storage as a primary backup repository.
