Moving replica job from one server to another
Good Morning everybody,
we are veeam csp, and in our infrastracture we've got two veeam server: one is dedicated to replicas job and other is dedicated to remote backup.
our idea is moving all replica job to other server, and convert the old replica server to a gateway server.
The big problem is moving replica..
I've goggled just a bit and I've find something similiar refered to hyper-v...
How to accomplish that with Vmware ?
Thanks

Hi Filippo, are you after moving replica VMs to another target ESXi host and continue replicating to it or just move the jobs so that another Veeam B&R instance manage replication jobs after that.

I am wondering the same thing. Can you move the replica's to another VBR server without needing to a configuration backup?

You would need to re-create the jobs on the new Veeam B&R instance and map them to existing replica VMs.

Re: Moving replica job from one server to another
Good Morning everybody,
In our infrastructure, we've got one veeam server which is doing both replication and backup. After reading the veeam best practice for replication-job, we want to set up the second veeam server at the DR site which will be dedicated for replication job only.
The replica will stay where they are e.g. same host, same datastore and etc.
How can we migrate only the replication jobs to the new vbr server?
Foggy mentioned that the replication jobs will need to be recreated on the new vbr and mapping the replica.
The question is that would it trigger a disk digest for the replicas when the job kicks off on the new vbr?
Many thanks in advance.

Re: Moving replica job from one server to another
Hi David, if you create the job on the new backup server manually, then digests will have to be re-calculated, right. However, if you import configuration from the first backup server, then digests should be available (they are stored in the repository specified in the replication job) and this stage will be skipped.
