Moving VBK files from StoreOnce to Data Domain

Post by mrholm »

Hi
We is in a process of moving from StoreOnce to Data Domain and it working fine using SOBR and evacuate backups. We though have som VBK files cretaed using VeeamZIP (seen under VeeamZIP section at Bakcups) and they are located directly in the root of Storeonce "filesystem" and the evacuate don't move them to Data Domain. How do we move them in a manner that is supported with Veeam and also have it avaialbe for restore?
Can we just copy them from root of Storeonce to Data Domain root and then we should see them under VeeamZIP?

Hi Mats, could you please clarify how were these backups written to StoreOnce? What was specified as a target for VeeamZIP? Thanks!

Hi Mats!

Try to copy VeeamZip backups using Veeam files view and then rescan repository, I'm pretty sure it should work.
I suggest to test it on a single file at first and if no issues occur, move remaining files using the same method.

Thanks!

@foggy, I believe the repository for StoreOnce was chosen for VeeamZIP but it seems strange that Veeam didn't created any "folder" for it
@petrM, yes I should be able to do that, not sure if that wil create any issues with DD if I don't put into a "folder"

Som update;
I wasn't able to copy from SO to DD directly, copy from SO to Windows server and then copy to DD worked fine.
I copied the VBK file to an existing folder belonging to a backup job and then did a rescan but it didn't show up in any way.

Is it possible to use Import-VBRbackup command in PS to import the bakcup from DD?
