We have a server with Veeam Backup and Enterprise manager installed on it. It is currently backing up close to 170 VMs. I want to install the MS Search server on the same server if possible. Take a look at the specs, it a beast of a server, and let me know if this is or is not a good idea.
4 x 2.6 Quad core procs (16 cores)
96 GB RAM
RAID 5 560 GB free disk space
I think it will be fine but I wanted to hear from the community.
Thanks

Re: MS Search server co-exist with Veeam
This definitely exceeds minimum Microsoft Search Server system requirements significantly, so you should be fine.
On a related note, why do you want to install it - does built-in search not scale for your amount of VMs?
