Hi,
My setup:
- 2 VeeamProxys as guests on two different ESX hosts (each host has 2 10Gbit Ethernet ports)
- Backup Target is a NAS, that has Teaming enabled on two 1GBit NICs.
- Teaming is confirmed working, I did performance tests from both proxies to the NAS and could see that both NICs on the NAS are used.
- If I am running 2 jobs in parallel with one guest included in the backup config (force 1 Job to proxy1 and the other to proxy2), I can see that both NICS are used on the NAS (performance is doubled).
- If I am running 1 jobs with two guests, however (enable 2 proxies and both are selected and used), I can see on the NAS, that only ONE NIC is used. Is this because the have to both write to the same file? Is this expected?
I might be wrong, but I thought multiple proxies can increase the backup performance.
I don't understand what is going on here - it seems like in fact only one proxy is doing all the jobs.
Hope someone can put some light on this...
regards
Andreas

Re: NAS, Teaming and Network Throughput with Proxies
Hi Andreas, I guess per-VM backups are not enabled on the repository?

Yes, that was the key. Thanks!
