Right now, we have the Configuration Backup set to run at 8:30 am each day.
This backup is stored directly to a repository on a separate host.
Most of the time, all the backups, replications and tapecopy jobs finish by 8:30 am.
However.... There are times when one or more tapecopy job will still be writing to tape at the config backup scheduled time.
Should we move the scheduled backup time to later in the day?
What is the impact if we don't move the config backup time? I'm making an assumption that the config will not necessary "know about" what has been stored on one or more tape volumes. Is that an accurate assumption?

Re: Need advice on Configuration Backup scheduling
Hi Kent, right, it might miss the latest data, which then can be updated by inventorying the corresponding tapes though.
