New vCenter Migration Utility and MoRef IDs

Post by mingji » 1 person likes this post

Hi there,

Case # 07292976
One of our CloudConnect tenants had to rebuild a vCenter to replace the old one. Unfortunately, we can't use vCenter Migration Utility because it doesn't support V12.

There was a discussion about updated utility:
vmware-vsphere-f24/vcenter-rebuild-and- ... 90416.html
Is it possible to get a copy before the official release?

Also, the tenant has a 40TB+ VM Backup Copy to CloudConnect, we really need a way to remap the MoRef for Cloud Copy job instead of running an active full.

Thanks.

Hello mingji

We are still discussing if the tool can be released before our next minor release. We still have coding todo. So there is nothing to share right now.

Best,
Fabian

Hi MJ

I wanted to update this topic.
Last week, we reintroduced our vCenter migration tool (Veeam VM Migrator Tool). The tool is supported starting in version 12.2 and is compatible with configurations using both MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases.

Please check the Knowledge Base article for more information: https://www.veeam.com/kb2136

Hi Fabian,

Thank you!, I just remembered this post and noticed the update. Also we just need to rebuild vcenter for a customer, this tool can be really useful.

Thanks!
