no VM discovery using tags

I am using veeam B&R v8 with vmware vsphere 5.5

when I use tags to discover vms Veeam can not find the vms tagged

with the commandlet get-tagassignment in powercli I can see that 2 VMs are tagged

in veeam
I rescan the vcenter infrastrure
I rescan the virtual machines
but always same issue : the tag is selected on the job but no vm are backed up and the total size stays at 0 kb even after recalculate

can some one help?

Just to make sure I fully understand the issue, you do see VM Tags in job configuration, but nothing gets backed up but the job? What do you see in the job session log?

One quick way to check which VMs are actually covered by a given tag is, when selecting the tag itself in the "add object" wizard, to expand the view of tags by clicking on the arrow on the left of the tag. If there's any VM actually marked with that tag, the VM itself should appear as a sub-node under the tag itself.
Tags are read in real time, so there's no problem of caching...
