NSX 4.2.2 compatibility with Veeam 12.3.1

Is there compatibility between Veeam 12.3.1 and NSX 4.2.2, which is scheduled to be released soon?
= Should I be concerned about minor releases?
We have plans to upgrade to NSX 4.2.2, but I understand that VBR in our environment is currently 12.2, which is not compatible with NSX 4.2.2.
We would like to upgrade to VBR 12.3.1, but are concerned about compatibility with NSX.

May I ask where you found NSX 4.2.2? The latest version I can find is v4.2.1.3.
According to Broadcom, NSX v4.2.1.3 is a bug fix-only release for NSX v4.2.1. Therefore it is expected to work with Veeam Backup & Replication v12.3.1.

NSX 4.2.2 has not been released yet, but I think it will be released soon.
If NSX 4.2.2 is released, I would like to know if it will be tested again for compatibility with Veeam 12.3.1 before it is supported, or if minor releases are not a concern.

Minor updates typically don’t cause any issues, but we still test them to ensure that everything works as expected.

I understand that once a new minor version of NSX is released, it will be tested for compatibility with Veeam, and if any issues arise, it will be supported in the next Veeam version release.
I assume that we will find out if the new NSX will be supported by Veeam 12.3.1 as early as 3 months after it is released, is that correct?

Not exactly — we usually test new platforms much earlier, especially minor updates that often don’t bring any changes in terms of support. The 90-day timeframe is our target for supporting a newly released major version of a platform, and while we aim to meet this timeline, we can’t guarantee that support won’t happen later. Thanks!
