NTFS vs. ReFS benefits best practice for VBR Repository?
I wonder what is the benefits and the caveats when using the ReFS over the NTFS for storage systems like file servers or backup repository purposes?

Re: NTFS vs. ReFS benefits best practice for VBR Repository?
ReFS has the benefits for the large-scale file usage scenario, like deploying VM for Hyper-V and any large files that must not be fragmented.
This has been mentioned by Microsoft: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windo ... kup-target
and of course, using this FileSystem for Veeam is beneficial as well: https://www.veeam.com/blog/benefits-of- ... -2016.html
Hope this helps.

Karsten,
XFS is a Linux file system, so do I go with the Hardened Linux Repository path?
what are the benefits?

Yes we would recommend to go with LHBR on Linux using XFS.
With that you have the benefits of the XFS Filesystem in terms of Pointering as well as the benefit that you can use Immutability with it and make sure your data can not be compromised.

Using Linux?
Is this the only way to achieve Immutability on the existing v11 so far.

You can either use Linux and follow our LHBR implementation and configuration guidelines if you like to built it your own.
But you can also use public cloud options such as Object Lock at AWS.
A 3rd option would be to use S3 compatible storages on-premise to leverage their immutability.
You can find a full list of validated ones here: https://www.veeam.com/alliance-partner- ... ble&page=1
As well as an unofficial support list here in the forums.
