Offisite backup

Post by belrpr »

Hi,

I currently have a virtual server running in a datacenter with Veam backup 7 enterprise plus.
It backups to a local disk.

now I want to make a back-up to the office.
I have a windows server 2012 ready.

So the current network is like this.

VM in datacenter-----firewall ----- WAN ----- firewall ------office server.
Now I want to install the backup repository for the office server so I went to my vm in the datacenter.
Added a "New Backup Repository". Under server selected add new. Entered my office wan ip address. Added my credentials of the office server.
Press next and the detecting previously installed components comes up but fails with network path not found

The ports that I have open on my office firewall are:
6160
6162
2500 - 5000
6164

Anyone has a good guide to get a setup like this going?

Tom, have you reviewed the full list of the required ports?

You need to open at least ports required for Veeam backup server connection to the Windows server. For example, I do not see whether you've opened ports required for deploying Veeam B&R components. Also, if your Veeam backup server VM also serves as a proxy server, you need to open port required for communication with backup repository (TCP 22).
