HI Good Day
So this is our first time deploying VBR to our clients and i have a few questions
We're planning to create a backup copy job from the Local site to an Offsite location and i'm not too sure if i missed some of the requirements.
Currently here's what we have:
Local Site:
- VMware Infrastructure and we're using the licensed version of VBR
Offiste Location:
- Standalone Windows server (workgroup)
- Free license of Veeam
- 2500 - 2550 ports are currently opened to the Firewall
When i created a backup repository for offsite using the external IP of the server we are getting a network not found.
My question is now, do we still need to open the ports 2500 - 5000 from the local site? or is there anything else.
Thank You in Advanced.

Re: Offsite Repository
Hi Jennilyn and welcome to the community!
You should open the ports on both sites to ensure proper communication.
Please review the list of required ports to open on the windows server in order to establish a connection with the backup server.

Re: Offsite Repository
HI DGrinev
Just a quick question, May i know which Veeam services uses the port 2500 - 5000?
I use TCPView to verify if the required port is listening on both servers (local and Offsite) or not but seems that I cannot pin point which services.
Appreciate all the help.

Re: Offsite Repository
Hi Jennilyn,
There is no particular service constantly using those ports. This range of ports is used by agents started during the backup jobs on the backup proxy or repository server.
Also, the same range is used during the restore processes. Thanks!
