Offsite Storage Options?
Greetings,
I'm seeking some advise for an offsite network attached backup solution. We are a Windows shop that does have Veeam servers and proxies setup at both primary and secondary sites.
3 options that I came up with are:
Drobo B810n or B810i
Synology RS815RP+
QNAP TS-863U-RP
I'm not dead set on these models or brands but these seemed be kind of similar enough to fit our budget.
Anyone have any opinions on these when using Veeam? I'm familiar with the Synology UI since I own one at home but not so much with Drobo and QNap.
Thanks for your feedback!

I think you should better forget this crapy nas devices and go with das
If you need to go with one of this nas device avoid using cifs and prefer iscsi

Can you please elaborate why NAS's are crappy?NightBird wrote:I think you should better forget this crapy nas devices and go with das
Any good cost effective DAS suggestions? The ESXi hosts we have at the 2nd site are HP ProLiant DL380's.
Thanks

He's saying a proper server full of disks, something like a Dell R730xd will be much better than these cheapo NAS boxes.
