I have a heavily segmented deployment of vSphere 6.7 and we are using V10 for backup.
Storage is Pivot3 iSCSi
The Veeam Backup Svr is in its own vLAN(2013) running on a standalone ESXi Host. I have presented all PROD datastores to the Backup Host so Veeam VM can see all target VM datastores and take advantage of HotAdd functionality.
I have added a vmKernel Port to each host on same VLAN(2013) with just Mgmt service enabled on it.
Looking for a sanity check on vmkernel port configuration please?

Re: Optimal VMKernel Configurations
Hi Dave,
In the HotAdd mode disks of the processed VM are attached to the backup proxy and data is retrieved directly from the attached disk instead of travelling through the network.
This help center page provides the check list for the HotAdd mode.
VMware suggests to configure the same MTU on all VMkernel network adapters in a vSphere Distributed Switch, please take a look at these best practices.
I believe that the question about VMkernel configuration sanity check is worth asking on similar VMware Forums.
Thanks!
