Hi,
I have a physical server that I need to convert to virtual. As I understand it, I need to have a second server to perform the p2v migration, however I don't have another computer as robust as the server I need to virtualize and I am trying to keep my original hardware.
In your opinion, is it easier to do a p2v migration using vmware converter? Is there a way I can just restore my Veeam backup onto my current server as a VM?
Looking for the best way to get this done, you assistance/input and wisdom are greatly appreciated.

Re: Physical to Virtual
Hello and welcome to the community Justin.
When backup was made by Veeam Agent you can convert disks of the original machine to a virtual format (vhd/vhdx or vmdk) and mount them to a virtual machine later. Another option might be to perform Bare Metal Recovery via .iso mounter to a blank VM. Hope this helps. Cheers!
