Re: Please assits Veeam replication support MS SQL cluster
Hi Jareewan,
In general for virtual machines, if the VM can be snapshotted, Veeam can back it up and also create replicas of it. For physical machines, the Veeam Agents for Windows (and Linux) can be used to protect machines with in-guest agents though this would not allow for replication. Similarly, we have the Veeam Plugin for Microsoft SQL Server which can work directly with the instance/databases instead of entire machine backup.
If it's in an Always on Available Group configuration, please check our User Guide here for additional details and considerations. The configuration of the cluster does matter a bit, so if you could elaborate on the specific configuration, we can advise better.
There may be additional nuances to consider, so I strongly recommend discuss the needs with your team and consider reaching out to your Veeam Sales Representative to discuss your scenario and what works best for you, and discuss with your DBA team their restore/availability needs in preparation for the discussion. There are many ways to protect MSSQL, replica is one of them, but consider the restore narrative that would be ideal for you and review the available options.
